Heath's Mix Discs
Heath's Mix Discs
I was a college DJ (wasn't everyone) and I missed the days of spending
time in the studio, spinning records and mixing stuff up. So, when I got
my CD-Writer I realized, I could do all that again with my computer. So
with wave editting and sequencing software for the tunes, Photoshop for
the custom design CD-Labels and covers, and CD-Burning software, I was
back in my glory days at the station.
If you are interested in any of the discs below, I'll be happy to mail you
a copy for free.
To listen to a short sampler of any of the discs, click on the album
picture or the link below it. It requires an .wma player which is
standard on just about any version of windows. If perhaps you don't have
an .wma player, my favorite free one can be obtained HERE.
Disclaimer to cranky artists, record labels, or anyone
else interested: these discs are not sold and distributed for free and
have maybe made it into the hands of a dozen people. Go hassle some
real pirates

This started it all. These are all songs from our reception. I made this
disc as a thank you gift for everyone involved. And there are some pretty
good tunes on here as well.

My second effort, and one of my all time favorite genres. A collection of
my favorite artists to kick back, relax, and groove to. A fusion of
techno, hip-hop, and jazz these are cutting edge artists.

Slick back your ducktail, roll up in your Chevelle, because this is the
biggest baddest Texas Rockabilly artist you'll ever meet. He's been doing
here in Texas for 15 years, and this is next best thing to seeing the Rev
and Jimbo live. He's got the talent, but never managed to break big
despite appearances on Letterman, the Drew Carry Show, and being on
soundtracks for lot's of films.

My first forray in remixing since my college DJ days. This was made
specifically for a close friend to help him get through some hard times.
The cover is a copy of the Back Street Boys picture we used as a target
for Glock-9 target practice while blowing off some steam. Adreline
pumping and a favorite amongst even those that don't like "the hard
stuff".

Oldskool Techno A mix of some of my favorite late '80s and early 90s
club tunes, back when the whole movement was just getting started. I went
for a Playskool Little People theme with this one. I thought there always
should be a little people DJ set. The music has been lovingly edit,
remixed, and flows into one big dance set.

Heath gets angsty! The tortured wannabe poet goth boy breaks loose and
decides to make a disc. Nine Inch Nails, Joy Division! Get this man a
Zantac!

The most mellow and relaxing mix of music I could think of mixed
specifically for the labor and delivery of Baby Hugh. It's 2 discs and a
whopping 2 1/2 hours of music, cuz, well, we were gonna be there a while
and I didn't want the same 10 songs playing over and over and over and
over. Since the birth, it's also been used with great success to calm the
baby, but then, Hugh also really likes the Heartbeat tape and that awful
version of Old McDonald that one of his toys play, so maybe that's not
such a good indicator.
